1 John 3:18 NKJV
“My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.”
It has been said that people don’t care what you know till they know that you care. We need to be willing to earn the right to share the love of God in words through our deeds, when you combine the two that is love in truth.
Today I had the opportunity to go to the Chaffey Philosophy Club that I was a part of when I was a student there. I have been wanting to go in order to keep the friendships going and so that people know who I am and what is the heart behind what I say in our online discussions on the Facebook group for the club.
Overall I feel like it went pretty well, the Lord was faithful to give me things to say. But my main prayer was just to shine the love of Jesus in my attitude. It may be just very small seeds that were planted, but that’s why they call it the work of the ministry. Its work, it takes labor and time to sow God’s truth and love into peoples lives.
People get frustrated with atheists and intellectuals because they seldom instantly convert at the hearing of the Gospel. But this is because they were not waiting to hear it in order to believe it but to see it in the life of a Christian for it to be worthy of further consideration. What can win the atheist? Seeing God undeniably in His followers. When that love is seen and they know you are willing to spend the time to understand them they will be more then willing to hear what you have to say.
May God help us all to be more faithful, especially faithful in loving in truth. True love speaks and acts with equal conviction.
