Jeremiah 33:3 NKJV
“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”
Dear Child of God,
Did you know that Jesus cares about what you have to say and that when you call on Him He is listening ever so intently?
Some times before the Jr. High Bible Study we would have a time of prayer and I would ask the kids if they wanted prayer for anything. It seemed there would always be at least one kid who would ask for prayer for their dog or their sick horse or worse yet their favored kitten, which apparently had been vexed through some unfortunate turn of events.
At first, I couldn’t help but consider those requests silly, and it didn’t help that some of the other kids were holding back laughter. I would immediately curtail those thoughts though, reminding myself that no prayer is too small (all the while trying not to show my lack of understanding towards the sincere request), and besides I should be happy that they even wanted to pray at all.
I wonder how our “much more mature and reasonable” prayers seem to God. I would wager He sees them at times much the way we consider the prayers of a child, sometimes a bit on the silly side, yet He cares for them all the same.
Oh, how He loves to hear His children, even if that child is four or fourty, He loves them the same. God wants you to call on Him and He is just waiting to answer you. You just have to ask.
Psalm 91:14-16 NKJV
“Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”
