Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. -2 Cor. 5:17 NKJV
“Breath in deep. Yesterday is gone, today I can see… for the very first time. I wave goodbye… to what used to weigh me down… everything’s alright. The sun is shining down. I’m looking all around and this is just so beautiful.” Today that line from the song posted above inspired me to share something that is on my heart. I am not going to lie, it has been difficult for me to write a post lately. I’ve been humbled and I’ve been broken –and I don’t feel worthy to keep writing to you about the things of God. But that is the point. We are not worthy. God is.
As the new year has come and the old one has passed away I want to encourage you to remember that you are all a new creation. To those of us who have accepted Christ all things have become new. I think that is a good attitude to start this new year out with. Let the mistakes of the past year remain in the past, let us take with us the lessons we have learned from them, and let us move forward to what God has before us.
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, -Phl. 3:31 NKJV
It’s a new day and it’s a new year. So wave goodbye to what used to weigh you down, because yesterday is gone. Today, with a frail smile on your face, look around and see just how beautiful this is –for the sun is shining. How beautiful is it that God has given you a new year and a new start. Let this year be one of joy, of peace, and of love. May God bless you this coming year and be with you. Amen.
Amen.
