Though None Go With

Though none go with me,
Onward I fray.
Though none go with me,
Into the fight I’ll stay.

Though the path is lonely,
And the battle dark.
I’ll follow my Captain,
Till death’s joyful embark.

I once wished to have adventure,
In the life after,
I dreamed of standing toe to toe,
With forces unknown.

In reflection and prayer,
I realized that the time to stand,
Was here;
Now.

You want to be a hero?
Stand for Christ.
You want your life to count?
Die to self.

There will come a day,
When heaven rolls away.
All things will be made new,
And eternal life gifted to the few.

Then will be the time to hang your shields,
Your battered armor,
Your war torn sword,
Upon the wall, for all honor in view.

Great stories I will tell at the feast,
Of battle and glory.
Treasures of conquest,
Laid at my King of Kings feet.

Will you have nothing to say?
Will you have no scars to display?
You call yourself a man,
I call you a coward, show me better.

“Show yourself a man,
Be strong and keep His ways.”
Words from a king to his son,
Where is your courage?

Though I go alone,
The fight is not mine,
For He fights for me,
The Man of War, the Lord enthroned.

Though none go with me,
Onward I fray.
Though none go with me,
Into the fight I’ll stay.
